    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental caries; Ozone; Cariogenic microorganisms; odontologi; Odontology;

    Abstract : There are a number of unanswered questions regarding new caries preventive methods such as ozone treatment as well as novel caries detection methods that monitor and evaluate these preventive methods. This thesis seeks answers to some of these questions. READ MORE

  2. 2. In vivo evaluations of the neutralizing effect of a hydroxyl ion-releasing resin composite and a prophylactic gel on plaque acidogenicity : measured by the microtouch method

  4. 4. Optical based technologies for detection of dental caries

    Author : Lena Karlsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: A conservative, non-invasive or minimally invasive approach to clinical management of dental caries requires diagnostic techniques capable of detecting and quantifying lesions at an early stage, when progression can be arrested or reversed. Objective evidence of initiation of the disease can be detected in the form of distinct changes in the optical properties of the affected tooth structure. READ MORE

  5. 5. Cariological and Salivary Studies in 70-Year-Old Cohorts

    Abstract : Life expectancy after 65 years of age has increased markedly during the last decades, and is still increasing. The purpose of this thesis was to describe differences in dental health between 70- year-olds born in different years, to describe caries prevalence, incidence over a 6-year period in one cohort, and try to find risk factors for dental caries.
