1. Studies of electrically conductive textile coatings with PEDOT:PSS
Abstract : This study investigates electrically conductive coatings of textiles, obtained with a direct coating and the addition of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) dispersion to a thickened polyurethane (PU)-based formulation. Textiles with enhanced electrical conductivity have potential applications in antistatic, electrostatic discharge protective, electromagnetic interference shielding, sensoric and temperature-regulating products. 2. Electrically conductive textile coatings with PEDOT:PSS
Abstract : In smart textiles, electrical conductivity is often required for several functions, especially contacting (electroding) and interconnecting. This thesis explores electrically conductive textile surfaces made by combining conventional textile coating methods with the intrinsically conductive polymer complex poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). 3. Large-Scale Graphene Production for Environmentally Friendly and Low-Cost Energy Storage : Production, Coating, and Applications
Abstract : There is great demand for energy-efficient, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective electrical energy storage devices. One important aspect of this demand is the need for automotive electrification to achieve more energy-efficient transportation at a reasonable cost, thus supporting a fossil-fuel free society. 4. Transparent Conductive Tin Doped Indium Oxide : Characterisation of Thin Films Made by Sputter Deposition with Silver Additive and by Spin Coating from Nanoparticle Dispersions
Abstract : Thin films of tin doped indium oxide (ITO) were prepared by two different methods: by sputter deposition with silver additive and by spin coating of a nanoparticle dispersion.ITO films doped with ≤ 20 at% of silver were prepared either as homogenous blends of ITO and silver or as intermixed layers. 5. Nanocomposite films for corrosion protection
Abstract : This thesis describes technical and scientific aspects of new types of composite films/coatings for corrosion protection of carbon steel, composite films with nanometer thickness consisting of mussel adhesive protein (Mefp‐1) and ceria nanoparticles, and polymeric composite coatings with micrometre thickness consisting of conducting polymer and ceria nanoparticles in a UV‐curing polyester acrylate (PEA) resin. The influence of microstructure on corrosion behaviour was studied for a Fe‐Cr‐V‐N alloy containing micro‐sized nitrides with different chemical composition spread in martensitic alloy matrix.
