22. Modelling of ultrasonic scattering from a crack in a pipe
Abstract : This thesis considers elastic wave scattering in an infinitely long cylindrical pipe with an infinitely long internal axial crack. The method used in this thesis is called a hypersingular integral equation method since it starts with an integral representation and by using the Green's tensor of the pipe it can be manipulated to a hypersingular equation for the crack-opening displacement (COD). 23. Investigation of the structural response of pavements in cold region using instrumented test site data
Abstract : The structural behaviour of pavement structures is known to be affected by the traffic-related loading and by the ambient factors to which the structure is subjected. A new mechanistic-empirical (M-E) pavement design method is under development in Sweden with the main purpose to adequately predict pavement structural response and performance. READ MORE

24. Thermally Modified Timber : Novel Aspects of Bending Behaviour Towards Grading and Structural Applications
Abstract : Thermally modified timber (TMT) has gained market share in Europe as an environmentally friendly and durable building material. Unfortunately, TMT products are currently prohibited for use in structural applications as there is insufficient data to estimate the loss in strength due to thermal modification. READ MORE

25. Millimeter Wave Imaging and Phased Array Antennas for 5G and Aerospace Applications
Abstract : Phased array antennas are cornerstones in many proposed antenna solutions concerning the next generation of both airborne radar systems and wireless communication systems (5G). Additionally, millimeter wave (mm-wave) frequencies are expected to play an integral role in 5G, and are deemed well-suited for inspecting structural components used in the aerospace industry.
