    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Real Estate Economics and Finance; Hedonic regression; Spatial econometrics; Residential market; Housing index; GARCH; Volatility forecasting; COVID-19; Value-at-Risk; Extreme Value Theory; Fastighetsekonomi och finans; Hedonisk regression; Spatial ekonometri; Bostadsmarknad; Bostadsindex; GARCH; Volatilitetsprognoser; COVID-19; Value-at-Risk; Extreme Value Theory; Fastigheter och byggande; Real Estate and Construction Management;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis is a collection of four essays that utilize cross-sectional and time-series econometric methods in real estate economics and finance. The first two essays apply econometric modeling to the residential market focusing on hedonic regression analysis, while the other two essays apply financial econometric modeling on an index of listed real estate stocks, and house price index indices. 2. 2. A Study of Critical Variables in the Anxiety of Schizophrenics by means of a Structured Clinical Interview and a Percept-genetic Experiment

    Author : Dan Anders Palmquist; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Factor-analysi; Cluster-analysis; Structured Interview; Subliminal verbal stimulation; Gestalting ability; Regression; Disintegration; Subliminal perception; Psychopathology; Cognitive maturity; Affects; Anxiety; Schizophrenia Perception; Percept-genetics; Psykologi; Regression;

    Abstract : Presented to 42 schizophrenic patients and 19 normals, by means of a percept-genetic technique, two motifs of mother and infant in close interaction (feeding and nursing) . The motifs were tagged, by subliminal presentation, with aggressive resp. "healing" sentences, in a balanced design. No effects of this tagging were discernible. READ MORE

  3. 3. Biodiversity in fragmented boreal forests : assessing the past, the present and the future

    Author : Håkan Berglund; Bengt Gunnar Jonsson; Jari Kouki; Umeå universitet; []

    Abstract : The aims of this thesis are to (1) analyze the predictability (indicators) of plant and fungal species diversity in old-growth forests, and (2) assess the history and biodiversity of woodland key habitats (WKHs) and their potential to maintain species diversity in fragmented boreal forest landscapes. Predictability was explored in Granlandet nature reserve, an unexploited landscape composed of discrete old-growth Picea forest patches of varying size isolated by wetland, reflecting conditions of insular biota at stochastic equilibrium. 4. 4. Cohesive modelling of the temperature dependence of epoxy based adhesives in Mode I and Mode II loading

    Author : Tomas Walander; Ulf Stigh; Anders Biel; Erik Serrano; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cohesive laws; Epoxy adhesive; Fracture energy; Peak stress; Temperature; Regression analyses; Shear modulus; Young’s modulus.; Technology; Teknik;

    Abstract : In this work, the influence of the temperature on the cohesive laws for two epoxy adhesives is studied at temperatures below the glass transition temperature for both Mode I and Mode II loading. Cohesive laws are measured experimentally under quasi-static loading conditions in the temperature range -30≤T≤80"C" . READ MORE

  5. 5. Should I stay or should I go – Factors associated with hospitalization risk among older persons in Sweden

    Author : Jenny Hallgren; Anna K. Dahl Aslan; Eleonor Fransson; Marie Elf; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Older persons; hospitalization; risk factors; cognitive decline; qualitative content analyses; longitudinal; Cox regression; latent growth curve modelling;

    Abstract : An increasingly older population will most likely lead to greater demands on the health care system, as older age is associated with an increased risk of having acute and chronic conditions. The number of diseases or disabilities is not the only marker of the amount of health care utilized, as persons may seek hospitalization without a disease and/or illness that requires hospital healthcare.
