  1. 1. Aspects of oral implant technology and osseointegration

    University dissertation from Malmö universitet, Faculty of Odontology

    Author : Rainde Naiara Rezende de Jesus; Malmö University.; [2019]
    Keywords : ODONTOLOGY; ODONTOLOGI; Medicine; biomaterials; oral implants; surface topography; surface roughness; surface energy; surface wettability; hydrophilicity; macrogeometry; implant body; thread design; surgical protocol; oversized drilling; osseointegration; bone-to-implant contact; bone density; primary implant stability; insertion torque; removal torque; removal energy; connection stiffness; osteoclasts; RAW264.7 cells; gene expression;

    Abstract : Implant rehabilitation of edentulous patients is a predictable treatment with high long-term survival rates (90-95%) reported for the major dental implant systems after 5-10 years in function. Throughout recent years, different materials, implant surface technologies, macrodesigns, and surgical techniques have been developed to enhance osseointegration and lessen treatment timeframes, for example allowing immediate or early functional loading in patients with reduced bone density. 3. 3. Fixation of Spinal Implants Clinical and Experimental Studies on the Effects of Hydroxyapatite Coating

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Bengt Sandén; Uppsala universitet.; [2001]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Hydroxyapatite; pedicle screw; histomorphometry; fixation; radiolucent zones; screw loosening; Kirurgi; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Abstract : Loosening of implants is a frequent complication in orthopaedic surgery. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate hydroxyapatite coating of pedicle screws with mechanical and histological methods and to correlate the results with the radiological findings.Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating of pedicle screws was investigated in experimental studies in sheep. 4. 4. Focal knee resurfacing : a translational study in sheep on the treatment of focal condylar cartilage lesions with metal implants

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology

    Author : Nicolas Martinez-Carranza; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2016]

    Abstract : Background The translational process of introducing a new treatment concept in medicine from innovation to clinical application is a challenging endeavour that often involves animal experiments. Focal cartilage lesion remains a clinical challenge and is considered to portend osteoarthritis (OA). READ MORE

  5. 5. On implant integration in irradiated bone : clinical and experimental studies

    University dissertation from Örebro : Örebro university

    Author : Jan Nyberg; Örebro universitet.; [2015]
