  1. 26. Threshold and Temperature Characteristics of InGa(N)As-GaAs Multiple Quantum Well Lasers

    Author : Göran Adolfsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GaAs; Semiconductor lasers; molecular beam epitaxy; multiple quantum wells; characteristic temperature; temperature dependence; dilute nitrides; ambipolar diffusion; InGa N As;

    Abstract : Semiconductor lasers emitting in the 1.3 μm regime are of interest for applications in access-networks like fiber-to-the-home and radio-over-fiber systems. Suchfiber optical networks are expected to replace the copper-based access-networks currently in use due to a continuously increasing demand on user bandwidth. READ MORE

  2. 27. Temperature and heat losses simulation in core and winding of a power transformer

    Author : Kourosh Mousavi Takami; Mahmoudi Jafar; Lennart Harnefors; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Power Transformer; Losses; Simulation; Temperature; Calculation; Electric power engineering; Elkraftteknik; elektronik; Electronics;

    Abstract : Simulering av temperatur och värmeförluster i kärna och lindning för en högspänningstransformator “... Ett ljus som lyser dubbelt så starkt, varar hälften så länge …”, i analogi med ljuset så kan transformatorer köras med överlast inom vissa gränser, men med följden att livslängden blir kortare. 3. 28. Plankton communities in a changing world - responses to temperature, brownification and lake restoration

    Author : Mattias Ekvall; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate change; temperature; warming; brownification; biomanipulation; zooplankton; cyanobacteria; microcystin; grazing; Daphnia;

    Abstract : The effects of increasing temperatures, in light of climate change, have been a well-studied topic during the past decades. However, aquatic ecosystems are also faced with additional challenges such as increasing water colour, known as “brownification”. READ MORE

  4. 29. Temperature-inducible and calcium-regulated proteins encoded by the virulence plasmid of Yersinia

    Author : Ingrid Bölin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Yersinia; virulence plasmid; gene products; regulation; calcium; temperature; outer membrane proteins;

    Abstract : The pathogenic members of the genus Yersinia, Y. pseudotuberculosis, Y. pestis and Y. enterocolitica are transmitted from animals to man and may give rise to disease with a variety of symptoms. READ MORE

  5. 30. The effect of microstructure and temperature on the atmospheric corrosion of Mg-Al alloys

    Author : Mohsen Esmaily; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Atmospheric corrosion; microstructure; temperature; corrosion product; magnesium;

    Abstract : The NaCl-induced atmospheric corrosion behavior of the Mg-Al alloy AM50 produced by rheo-casting (RC) and high pressure die casting (HPDC) techniques was studied in the laboratory. The exposures were performed at 95% RH in the absence and presence of 400 ppm CO2 at 22, 4 and -4ºC. In parallel, 99.97%Mg was investigated as reference. READ MORE
