  1. 1. Dynamic changes in T cell compartments and new approaches in evaluating DSS induced and Gai2 deficient colitis

    Author : Maria Fritsch Fredin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : colitis; Gai2- - mice; dextran sodium sulfate; ex vivo cultures; micro-Computed Tomography; IEL; thymus; Inflammatory Bowel Disease;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to increase the understanding of the immunopathology of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The first aim was to elucidate how the thymus and the gut epithelium were affected by colitis. The second aim was to investigate new ways of assessing and monitoring colitis. READ MORE

  2. 2. Immunopathogenesis of Gai2-deficient mice. A model of inflammatory bowel disease

    Author : Lena Öhman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Inflammatory Bowel Disease; Mucosa; Apoptosis; Bordetella pertussis; G-protein;

    Abstract : The intestinal mucosa is the largest lymphoid organ in the body, and it simultaneously has to protect us from any pathogen that might enter the gastrointestinal tract as well as maintaining tolerance to most antigens, mainly in the form of dietary constituents and microbial products. A dysfunctional control of local intestinal immune responses may lead to development of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) - the common name for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn´s disease (CD). 3. 3. Optically detected magnetic resonance studies of intrinsic defects in dilute nitrides and SiC

    Author : Nguyen Quoc Thinh; Marek Godlewski; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Self-interstitials, vacancies and antisites belong to an important class of defects -intrinsic defects - in compound semiconductors. They have been found to be common occurring defects in semiconductor crystals grown under non-optimized or non-equilibrium conditions or subject to high-energy particle bombardment. READ MORE
