  1. 1. Effects of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy on Perivascular Groin Infections after Vascular Surgery. Wound Healing, Cost-Effectiveness and Patient-Reported Outcome

    Author : Christina Monsen; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Keywords : Negative Pressure Wound Therapy NPWT ; Vacuum Assisted Closure; Surgical site infections; Groin; Quality of Life; Pain; Resource use; Cost-effectiveness; Content Analysis;

    Abstract : Abstract Background: Surgical site infection (SSI) in the groin after vascular surgery is common and deep perivascular infection leads to long periods of hospitalization, sometimes to amputation and/or death. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is increasingly used for treating wounds such as deep perivascular groin infections after vascular surgery, but there is no scientific evidence supporting its benefit over traditional wound therapy. 2. 2. Condition-Based Maintenance: Selection and Improvement of a Cost-Effective Vibration-Based Maintenance Policy for Rolling element Bearings

    Author : Basim Al-Najjar; Sherwin David; Bo Bergman; Produktionsekonomi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; a cost-effective vibration-based maintenance policy.; Integrated maintenance; Condition monitoring and control; Total Time on Test-plots; Vibration monitoring; effectiveness and accuracy; Failure causes and mechanisms; Maintenance quality; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Commercial and industrial economics; Industriell ekonomi; Maintenance Technology; Terotechnology;

    Abstract : Modern machinery is expensive and therefore must run at high availability and effectiveness which cannot be achieved without an effective maintenance policy. Condition monitoring, (CM), techniques can be utilised to reduce or arrest the rate of deterioration of a component so increasing operating life. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of a regeneration procedure for commercial automotive three-wy catalysts

    Author : Henrik Birgersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; deactivation; fouling; sintering; poisoning; palladium; rhodium; regeneration; dispersion; thermal gas treatment; oxy-chlorine; TWC; automotive catalyst; Chemical process equipment; Kemisk apparatteknik;

    Abstract : Car exhaust catalysts were introduced in the early 1980’s, to limit the release of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxides. These catalysts contain noble metals such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) and rhodium (Rh) and are able to simultaneously abate all three of the above-mentioned pollutants, hence the name three-way catalyst (TWC). 4. 4. Operational performance driven production system design process

    Author : Md Hasibul Islam; Monica Bellgran; Peter Almström; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production system; design process; development process; lean production system design process; design projects; operational performance; overall equipment effectiveness; OEE; company specific production systems; XPS; ramp-up.; Industrial Engineering and Management; Industriell ekonomi och organisation;

    Abstract : The design process of a production system referred to as the production system design process (PSDP) impacts on the operational performancethroughout the lifecycle of the production system, especially on the rampupand operation phases. Despite the impact of activities of PSDP on the operational performance, how to manage the PSDP is still a challenge for manufacturing companies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Mine production index: Development and application

    Author : Amol Lanke; Javad Barabady; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production Assurance program PAP ; Fuzzy analytical hierarchy process FAHP ; Mine production assurance MPA ; Bottleneck detection; Mine production index MPi ; Mining; Drift och underhållsteknik; Operation and Maintenance Engineering;

    Abstract : Assuring production forms a crucial part of mining business profitability. Factors related to various mine operations, activities and business processes can threaten required/planned mine production. To address problems and ensure production level in mining, it is necessary to implement a mine production assurance program (MPA). READ MORE
