1. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Abstract : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. READ MORE

2. Soft tissue integration to dental implants
Abstract : Soft tissue integration is a prerequisite for implant success. The role of the soft tissue barrier at implants is to provide an effective seal that protects the underlying bone and prevents access for microorganisms and their products. READ MORE

3. Radiographic follow-up analysis of Br?nemark? dental implants
Abstract : Radiography plays an important role in clinical routine practice and in research projects evaluating dental implants, among them Br?nemark? System. Presence of a peri-implant radiolucency has been used in studies as a criterion for implant failure without knowledge of its diagnostic accuracy. READ MORE

4. Clinical and experimental studies of bone substitutes and dental implants in compromised bone sites
Abstract : Background: With an ageing population, an increase of more challenging implant treatments is expected. In this thesis, we evaluate the outcome of two faster implant protocols, in patients with compromised alveolar bone. READ MORE

5. On titanium release from dental implants and the inflammatory response
Abstract : In dentistry, dental implants have become a standard treatment for single tooth loss and partial and total edentulism since their introduction by P-I Brånemark in the 1960s. Long-term follow-up studies have shown that dental implantation is a predictable treatment, with an overall implant survival over ninety-five percent. READ MORE
