  1. 1. Probing quantum criticality in heavy fermion CeCoIn5

    Author : Akash Khansili; Andreas Rydh; Venkata Kamalakar Mutta; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Strongly correlated electron systems; heavy fermion; quantum criticality; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : Understanding the low-temperature properties of strongly correlated materials requires accurate measurement of the physical properties of these systems. Specific heat and nuclear spin-lattice relaxation are two such properties that allow the investigation of the electronic behavior of the system. READ MORE

  2. 2. Investigations on Emission Sources in Proton-Nucleus and Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions

    Author : Johan Mårtensson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High energy interactions; Fysik; Physics; correlation function.; fermion interferometry; t p and d p ratios; target mass dependence; pion angular distribution; pion excitation function; Heavy ion reactions; intermediate energy; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi;

    Abstract : Emission sources in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at intermediate energies have been studied. Pion excitation functions from the absolute threshold to 500 MeV have been measured with an ion beam of continuously varying energy with an energy resolution of 1 MeV. READ MORE

  3. 3. Phenomenology of SO(10) Grand Unified Theories

    Author : Marcus Pernow; Tommy Ohlsson; Werner Rodejohann; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Grand unified theories; Renormalization group equations; Neutrino masses; Gauge coupling unification;

    Abstract : Although the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics describes observations well, there are several shortcomings of it. The most crucial of these are that the SM cannot explain the origin of neutrino masses and the existence of dark matter. READ MORE

  4. 4. Family symmetries and radiative corrections in multi-scalar extensions of the Standard Model

    Author : Jonas Wessén; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Beyond the Standard Model; Trinification; Grand Unification; Three Higgs doublet models; Coleman-Weinberg potential; Supersymmetry; Left-Right symmetry; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Wessén;

    Abstract : The four articles contained in this thesis all concern aspects of model building beyond the Standard Model (BSM). While Paper I mainly serves as a ``tool paper'' in which the results can be used to simplify certain calculations of one-loop effects from new heavy particles, Paper II--IV all deal with consequences of family symmetries in several BSM scenarios. 5. 5. Deviations from the London model in superconductors

    Author : Emma Campillo; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Neutron scattering; SANS; vortex lattice; condensed matter physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Campillo;

    Abstract : Using Small-Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) we have studied the flux line lattices of the first heavy-fermion superconductor to be discovered, CeCu2Si2, the well-known high-temperature superconductor YBa2Cu3O7, along with Ca-doped variants of this compound, and several topological superconductor candidates that have attracted a lot of attention in the last few years, such as PbTaSe2, Au2Pb and β-Bi2Pd.Unconventional superconductors, with pairing mechanisms and properties that are not accounted for within BCS theory, are a subject of continuing interest.
