    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transcriptome reconstruction; transcriptome assembly; transcript isoform detection; Picea abies; acrocona; cone setting; differential expression; gene families; miRNA; quality assessment; transkriptomrekonstruktion; sammansättning av transkriptom; detektering av transkriptisoform; rödgran; kottegran; kottsättning; differentiellt uttryck; genfamiljer; kvalitetsutvärdering; miRNA; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Transcriptome reconstruction is an important component in the bioinformatical part of transcriptome studies. When a reference genome is missing, highly fragmented or incomplete, a de novo transcriptome assembly is the transcriptome reconstruction approach of choice, since in such situations, a simple alignment (or mapping) would not necessarily give all theinformation concerning splice junctions, isoforms or even the full extent of the gene. 2. 2. Finite Volume Methods on Quadrilateral and Moving Meshes

    Author : Fredrik Svensson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; numerisk analys; system; kontroll; systems; control; numerical analysis; finite volume method; Datalogi; Computer science; moving mesh method; higher order reconstruction; hyperbolic conservation law;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is the study of finite volume methods for hyperbolic conservation laws on non-uniform meshes. A high-order hyperbolic reconstruction method is presented. The method is constructed for quadrilateral meshes, since more realistic hyperbolic problems involve more complicated problem domains than the standard rectangular ones. READ MORE

  3. 3. Generalized Bandpass Sampling Receivers for Software Defined Radio

    Author : Yi-Ran Sun; Svante Signell; Markku K. Renfors; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Radio receivers; Software Defined Radio SDR ; uniform nonuniform sampling; reconstruction; bandpass sampling; noise aliasing; sampling jitter; generalized bandpass sampling; complex signal processing; complex FIR and IIR filter design; Switched-Capacitor SC circuit; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : Based on different sampling theorem, for example classic Shannon’s sampling theorem and Papoulis’ generalized sampling theorem, signals are processed by the sampling devices without loss of information. As an interface between radio receiver front-ends and digital signal processing blocks, sampling devices play a dominant role in digital radio communications. READ MORE

  4. 4. Complications following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

    Author : Jesper Kraus Schmitz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) and septic arthritis (SA) are two rare complications following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Due to their rare incidence, risk factors and outcome are difficult to analyse and the aims of this thesis are to improve knowledge in this area. Methods: All studies are register based. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of surgical techniques in craniofacial reconstruction

    Author : Erik Neovius; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Introduction: Facial fractures are common and either the injury or the surgical treatment may cause sequelae including diplopia, visual loss, dystopia, enophthalmos, scarring, soft tissue affection and sensory disturbances. Severe facial fractures may also lead to bone defects due to resorption. READ MORE
